In many instances technologies have been developed for implementation on farms with the sole focus on how to sell the farmer and extract the maximum value for the buyer of a commodity. Too often that strategy has resulted in surrounding communities and neighbors being left out of the equation.
Swinergy has flipped the equation on its head. Our work was first inspired by seeing the negative impacts of agricultural waste on communities. Therefore, the communities around Swinergy Partner Farms are key stakeholders in our projects.
We believe our success depends on providing improved water, air, and economic outcomes for our communities AND our partnering farmers.
A Swinergy system does not add any new chemicals or hazardous materials in the development of our projects or waste processing. We only capture the fumes and emissions that would otherwise not be harvested.
Our processing also improves the fertilizer quality of waste applied to agricultural land so it is less likely to run off into a waterway or seep into a well. Along with these improvements, the production of secure, resilient natural gas in rural areas can backup smaller distribution lines during times of increased energy usage.
